So, I just recently got back to work after a hiatus of having a baby (they call it maternity leave) and I wandered down to my favorite body care store... which no longer where I left it last!
LUSH in New Orleans is... GONE.
This is heart breaking for me. I loved my Godiva bar, which I just used up along with my Jungle, and I have a lingering bit of great smelling soap left from my last visit there. The only place that has a LUSH store near me is now Baton Rouge's Mall of Louisiana.
What a tragedy.
I had to find a remedy.
Since my family and I have so many sensitivities, we have to buy unscented or fragrance-free products and try to use mostly organic or natural products. Because of this, combined with the fact that one of my sources of products is now no longer in my reach, I will be trying my hand at making my own body care products.
Just like many of you, I too love Pinterest. Unlike many of you, I do make many projects based off of things I've seen there.
I'm sure you've seen at least one recipe for a DIY body care product on there. Well, I'm collecting some easy and great recipes to try out, so if you have one, please let me know! I use essential oils as well.
I called a local honey farm from which I can buy my beeswax and can't wait to try my first recipe next weekend. I'll be making some soap and sugar scrub cubes.
Seriously, please let me know if you have a great body care recipe for me!

Surprise: A Not-so-Surprise
So I haven't written anything new since December, which is a shame.
Unfortunately I have a very good reason/excuse to blame it all on!

Since the Holidays...
Since the Holidays ran away with me, I didn't get a chance at all in November to hunt down Banksy's works!
I know that it's equally impossible for it to happen before the new year (it is only four days away).
BUT, there is hope! I think I will be able to fulfill my mission once I return from the New Year's celebrations.
Also, you might have noticed a new section; The 'Into'. It's a bunch of monthly updates on products and such that you should totally check out!
Unless you're highly influenced by awesome products and shiny things then you absolutely shouldn't, because the side effect of looking at it is the loss of money and the confusion of where it went.
Well, that's all for now!
Hope your Holidays were fabulous!

Banksy in New Orleans
In 2008 the street artist Banksy came to New Orleans and blessed the city with some wonderful pieces.
Unfortunately, since then some of the pieces have been buffed out and others were demolished with the buildings they were painted on.
This week I'll be visiting a few of the sites and give a photo update on his works. I will be posting two images for sure, and others I will try to get to.
Also, the Gray Ghost pieces have had similar ends but I will try to get to some of them as well.

Welcome
So technically this should have been my first post, but I couldn't keep War Paint inside any more.
Hello and welcome!
I'm hoping this will be the place I stay and keep a photography log, put my random writings, and share my inspirations. I don't think I need to really say more than that and happy blogging!
